What to wear at Hinterland

From footwear to sports clothes we have modest and comfortable uniforms and dress codes.

Footwear & Hair

  • Footwear
    Black shoes, black laces, white socks. Sport shoes may be worn on sport days only - as plain as possible please.
  • Hair
    Primary (K-6) all hair, male and female, must be tied back if it reaches the collar. Secondary may wear their hair out, except when required for specific classes e.g. Food Technology, Technologies, Sport, etc.  All hair accessories are to be school colours - navy, white, maroon or natural hair colour to match.
Sport

Sport Uniform

All students K-10 wear the sport uniform polo shirt. Primary students wear their everyday shorts with the polo, with the exception of Grades 5-6 who may choose to wear the sports shorts. Secondary students wear both the polo shirt and sports shorts.

Primary Formal

  • The Primary (K-6) uniform consists of:
    • Blue & white striped shirt; unisex
    • Navy shorts/slacks; unisex
    • Hinterland polo shirt (Sport day only)
    • Hinterland CC jumper
    • Hinterland broad brimmed hat
  • NB Grades 5&6 ONLY may choose to wear sports shorts for Sport days:
    • If needed, a navy or white long-sleeved t.shirt may be worn under school shirts. Navy tights or stockings may also be added to the skorts for cooler times.

Secondary Girls

  • The Secondary (7-10) girls uniform consists of:
    • White blouse
    • Navy check skirt (to be worn on the knee)
    • Hinterland polo shirt (Sport only)
    • Hinterland sport shorts (Sport only)
    • Hinterland CC jumper
    • Hinterland broad brimmed hat
    • If needed, a navy or white long-sleeved t-shirt may be worn under school shirts. Navy tights or stockings may also be added to the skorts for cooler times.

Secondary Boys

  • The Secondary (7-10) boys uniform consists of:
    • White shirt
    • Navy formal shorts (to be worn unless a Sports day)
    • Navy formal slacks
    • Hinterland polo shirt (Sport only)
    • Hinterland sport shorts (Sport only)
    • Hinterland CC jumper
    • Hinterland broad brimmed hat

Casual Dress Code

  • On the occasion the students are allowed to wear casual dress, the following considerations must be taken into account:
    • All clothing must be modest. No singlet tops/muscle shirts, short skirts/shorts or middriff tops. Any branding, printing, wording or pictures need to be positive and uplifting.
    • Footwear needs to be fully enclosed.
    • A gold coin donation needs to be brought in to contribute to the fund raising event.
